Both phones look the same as their predecessors but if users are into colorful mobile phones, then these two phones are ideal for them. Both phones are available in various pastel colors. Both phones also have back covers that are made of plastic which don’t attract fingerprints.

What makes ZenFone Selfie different to the international edition of ZenFone 2 Laser is the absence of the large ASUS logo design above the phone’s screen. It is dropped to have space for the huge camera sensor.

One biggest drawback of these two phones is their overall size. Having a thickness of 10.8 mm and a weight of 170 g, they are a bit chunky compared to their contemporaries. A lot of users that have small hands may have a hard time holding them.

Generally, users can enjoy both phones even if they have some drawbacks. Users will experience fair speeds in navigating both phones but the international version of Laser 2 may provide occasional slowdowns. ZenFone Selfie and the international edition of ZenFone 2 Laser are both user-friendly and provide good quality photos using their rear cameras.

Another thing that makes ZenFone Selfie different from the international ZenFone 2 Laser is its dual-sim feature. Both sim slots are 3G/4G capable but cannot be connected simultaneously.

When it comes to Bluetooth connectivity, both phones have specifications of Bluetooth 4.0.

Battery life

Both phones carry 3000 mAh Lithium Polymer removable batteries. In terms of battery performance, they can both last up to 2 days when moderately used.

Despite having inconsistencies, both phones have good overall battery life. For the same price range with other smartphones, their 3000 mAh battery capacity is much better than the others’ which only have about 2500 mAh of battery capacity.

Even if users misfire the point, this feature lets the camera to quickly focus on the subject so that opportunity to capture precious moments will not be missed.

Software

These two phones have ZenUI that runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop as their operating system. Even if this OS version is fairly outdated, it’s still perfectly adequate to what these two phones can do. Furthermore, ZenUI’s customization is pervasive and deep.

After unboxing the phones, users may find that these two phones contain unnecessary apps and other features which are also applied to Samsung Android phones that were released in recent years.

Applications on ZenFone Selfie and international ZenFone 2 Laser can be updated via the Google Play store, the one-stop app for all Android needs. The third party and unused applications of both phones could be removed to have extra space for added performance.

Performance

Both phones use Qualcomm Snapdragon as the processor. However, ZenFone Selfie has clear advantage when it comes to smooth UI navigation. Users can experience stutter-free apps’ switching, file browsing, and etc. Even when the applications are being updated in the background, ZenFone Selfie hardly flinches.

Bottom line
