Every day we send messages. We do this in a number of ways. Some of us rely on SMS, while others use messaging apps. Many messaging services are cross-platform apps, which makes the entire process a lot easier. You can find tons of messenger apps to choose from in the Google Play store, including Skype, WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook Messenger, Signal, and more. Today, we are going to look at Signal.
Signal Private Messenger stands out because it makes security its first priority, just as the name suggests. According to the developers, the app uses an end-to-end encryption protocol that ensures every message sent is private. This is an open-source application, and it has many of the features other chatting services offer, such as group messaging. With the exception of the encryption part, Signal’s functions are fast and reliable, while it follows the material design guidelines.
If you take a look at this app, the first thing you are likely to notice is that the design of the app looks just like Google Messenger, or at least that’s what we saw. This isn’t the only app available that looks like Google Messenger, there are many of them on the market. So, if this is a design you are comfortable with, you are going to be happy with the look and feel of Signal.
Signal Private Messenger also lets you send media attachments such as images. This is a handy feature.
That really sums up Signal. We would suggest that the way to think of Signal Private Messenger is as a regular app topped with an added level of security. Most of us would agree that’s a good thing. The drawback is that if you want to use it to chat with others, you will need to get them to download and use the app as well. This app is pretty new, so it is worth the time to check it out and form your own opinion.
